Hershey’s x Beekman 1802 Collection Review

Move over pumpkin spice, the latest collab between Beekman 1802 and Hershey’s is the sweet treat we didn’t know we needed! I had a pretty busy summer going into early fall this year so haven’t kept up with the latest news from Beekman 1802. This collab came as a complete surprise when it launched and I was so thankful that they sent me a few things to try! I am a massive fan of all things chocolate so I couldn’t wait to dig in and test everything.

Hershey’s x Beekman 1802 limited edition collection launched with 3 signature scents:

  • Milk Chocolate – a beloved blend made with notes of vanilla fudge, cocoa and caramel
  • Candy Cane – a festive concoction of cool peppermint swirl and white chocolate
  • Snickerdoodle – cinnamon cookie with a hint of creamy sweetness

The collection includes a variety of body care treats like body wash, hand and body creams, and solid bars soap. I received a little bit of everything, and here are my honest thoughts.

Milk Chocolate Hand & Body Wash ($36) – The face of the collection, this hand & body wash comes in the classic Hershey’s chocolate syrup bottle and I had to do a double take when I opened my package. It. Smells. So. Good! No, it literally smells like a Hershey’s milk chocolate bar with comforting notes of cocoa, vanilla, and condensed milk. The formula also contains shimmery particles for a touch of festive whimsy. They don’t stay on the skin and fully wash off so you don’t have to worry about walking around covered in glitter. The formula feels very gentle and doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry and tight, thanks to mild surfactants and moisturizing ingredients like goat’s milk and aloe vera. Is this body wash a must-have? No, but it will make for a lovely little treat for the holidays and a fun gift to give to your loved ones this winter. 5/5

KISSES Milk Chocolate Goat Milk Soap ($17) – From the promo photos I thought the soap would be shaped like an oversized Kisses candy, but in reality it has one side that is smooth and curved and the other one has a sharp cut to help the bar lie flat in the soap dish. Not a dealbreaker for me personally, but something to keep in mind if you’re considering these for stocking stuffers. The soap is triple-milled which makes the bar denser and helps it last longer. It is also enriched with nourishing goat’s milk, shea butter, jojoba and kukui nut oils for additional soothing and moisturizing benefits. I tried it as a body wash and as a hand soap, and for the body it definitely works better when you use it with a loofah. The formula is on the mild side and doesn’t create a ton of bubbles, so using a loofah helped it suds better. As a hand soap, it left my hands feeling soft and clean with a slight tightness. 4/5

KISSES Whipped Body Cream Mini ($14) – I was sent two mini jars to try: Snickerdoodle and Candy Cane. I’m familiar with Beekman 1802 whipped body cream formula and the only difference for me here would be the scents. These whipped body creams have a lightweight, silky texture and non-greasy finish on the skin. They sink in quickly and don’t clog the pores, making them suitable for all skin types. I would describe the actual moisturizing effect as mild to moderate – it’s not going to make a huge difference for very dry skin. The scents are pretty accurate and closely resemble actual snickerdoodle cookies and candy canes. The snickerdoodle-scented cream smells like warm cookies, with cloves and cinnamon as the most prominent notes. The candy cane cream smells like peppermint oil with a touch of sweet whipped cream. These fragrances aren’t too strong and only linger on the skin briefly so they won’t interfere with your perfume. 3.5/5

BOTTOM LINE:

What an exciting collab! I really enjoyed exploring this collection, and the presentation on some of these products was so creative! Hand & Body Wash stood out in the best way: it is generously sized, comes in fun packaging, smells incredible, and has pretty little sparkles in the formula. Goat Milk Soap was another winner – it’s like washing your hands with a bar of chocolate! Both the body wash and the solid soap bars would make fun and practical gifts – everybody takes showers 😉 Whipped Body Creams were a hit and a miss. A hit because they are lightweight and smell so yummy. A miss, because we’re currently going into winter so I feel like most of us are looking for something more moisturizing.
